The Journal of Crop Sciences & Sustainability.
Founded in 1989, the journal has published peer-reviewed crop science continuously for thirty-eight years — through paper-only days, the move to electronic submission, and the shift to fully open access in 2019.

What we publish.
The journal publishes original research, short communications, review papers, and policy briefs in crop science and adjacent disciplines. Submissions are reviewed by at least two members of the editorial board or invited external reviewers.
Our standing commitment is to publish work that is methodologically sound and regionally relevant — even when it lands outside the trend of the month. That commitment cost us in early citation metrics; it has held up well in the long run.
What we don't publish.
Single-site descriptive studies without a clear comparator. Marketing-adjacent technology papers. Studies whose data are not made available on request. Repeat submissions to evade rejection.
“The journal exists to publish work whose readers, in the end, are the next generation of crop scientists.”
