04 — PRESENTATION GUIDELINE

How to present at an ACA event.

These guidelines apply to oral talks, lightning talks, and posters at the annual conference and at working-group meetings. They're enforced by session chairs but they're really just here to help your work land.

Oral talk length 12 + 3 min
Lightning talk 5 min
Poster A0 portrait

01 · Format & length

Oral presentations are 12 minutes plus 3 minutes Q&A. Lightning talks are 5 minutes, no slides on the screen behind you. Poster format A0 portrait.

02 · Title slide essentials

Title, author list with affiliations, ACA member status, session and track number, and your contact email. Funding sources go on the final slide, not the first.

03 · Figures and data

Every chart must show units, sample size, and statistical treatment. Use colourblind-safe palettes — the conference template includes one. Tables longer than five rows belong in the paper, not on a slide.

04 · Language and citations

Presentations are in English. If quoting a colleague's unpublished work, secure their permission and credit them on the slide. Slide template available below.

05 · Posters

Bring your printed poster — we do not print on-site. Posters stay up for the full day of your assigned poster session. A two-minute teaser at the start of the session is encouraged.

06 · Recording and reuse

All sessions are recorded with presenter consent. Recordings are made available to members one month after the conference. You retain copyright to your slides.

07 · Template downloads

The official conference slide template and poster template are below. Use of the templates is not mandatory but it helps session chairs keep the day running on time.
